How we start
to work together...
0. For
starters let me state that I want to be
your businesses personal Excel, Access, and VBA
go-to-person. That is how I approach
the relationship. As such, customer
support is very important. Consider me
your hired gun, only when you need me, and on an
hourly basis.
1. To start,
we discuss your project in great detail; we will
review your existing file(s), possibly with the
help of GoToMyPC. During this
conversation I will learn of the levels of
experince with Excel, Access, and VBA for you
and your team. I will tell you what I
think your best options are, based on your
unique situation and budget.
2. If you
would like an idea of how many hours your
project might take I will need for you to
provide me with a detailed scope of the work you
would like to have done. This ususally
comes after we talk about your project in great
detail. Please remember, I work by the
hour, not the project.
3. I work on an hourly
basis, not on a project basis. When you
hire me you are agreeing to pay me for all
hours worked. If for whatever reason your
project is put on hold by you or your company,
or worse yet, cancelled, you are agreeing in
advance to pay me for all outstanding hours
worked. In return I will provide you with
all files and work to date as well as support
for those products where applicable.
6. How I bill. I usually
request a small retainer to begin a project,
usually via Pay Pal or Visa/MasterCard. If
the work is substantial, or if the work is
completed over several weeks or months, I will
ask for small bi-weekly payments as we work thru
the project. I never want to let the
accrued hours exceed 10 on any given
project.
7. Given that I am paid by the
hour, and not the project, I have no rights to
any of the work I do, it is 100% your possession
to do with as you wish, including marketing it
for resale.
8. Product support - I
support my products until you stop using
them. That is typically for several years
at a minimum.
9. The 'extras'. When you
have Excel, Access, &/or VBA related
questions that you can not find the answer to,
call me at 714.262.6893 and I will do my best to
answer those questions. They do not need
to be related to any work I have done for you in
the past. Of course there is no charge for
this service, this is what I do, and I am here
to help you in whatever way possible. Did
